The Farabi Exchange Program is a national program that supports student and faculty exchange between higher education institutions in Turkey. The Farabi Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of this program within the department, overseeing the application processes, and ensuring academic equivalency.
Managing the Application Process:
Receive applications from students wishing to participate in the Farabi exchange program, check their eligibility based on the application criteria, and present the candidates to the department management.
Student Selection and Guidance:
Select suitable candidates based on academic success from the applicants and notify the Farabi Institutional Coordinator.
Course Equivalency Planning:
Evaluate the compatibility of courses students will take at the partner institution with the department's curriculum, assist in preparing the Learning Protocol, and manage the approval process.
Academic Guidance for Incoming Students:
Support Farabi students coming to the department with course selection, assign academic advisors, and monitor their academic progress.
Equivalency and Grade Conversion Processes:
Determine the equivalency of the courses taken by Farabi exchange students, prepare grade conversion tables, and carry out the adaptation process.
Information and Promotion:
Organize informational meetings for students about the Farabi program in the spring semester every year, provide information about the application process, quotas, and partner universities.
Inter-Institutional Relations:
Maintain communication with partner universities, and when necessary, convey the department's views to the Farabi Institutional Coordinator regarding the development of new Farabi protocols.
Annual Reporting:
Regularly report quantitative and academic information regarding Farabi mobility to the Farabi Institutional Coordinator.
Advisory Role:
Provide academic advising to students participating in the Farabi program, and assist in resolving any issues they encounter during their academic process.
Documentation and Archiving:
Regularly archive documents related to the Farabi process, such as learning protocols, grade sheets, and course equivalency decisions at the department level.
