Purpose:
The Education Commission carries out studies to update the department curriculum by national and international academic standards, develop course plans, increase student success, and continuously improve education and training activities.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
To review the course plans of the department's undergraduate and graduate programs, prepare update suggestions and follow up on the processes of opening new courses or removing existing courses/following up on the processes.
Course Syllabus (Syllabus) Follow-up:
To check the course syllabi prepared by academic staff at the beginning of the semester, ensure that they are compatible with the Bologna process and archive them for quality assurance.
Curriculum Improvement:
To present improvement suggestions in the curriculum in line with the outputs obtained from graduate and employer surveys, student feedback, and accreditation processes.
Monitoring of Competencies:
Reviewing program outcomes each term by correlating them with course learning outcomes and supporting the use of evaluation methods compatible with these outcomes.
Evaluation of the Counseling Process:
Monitoring the functioning of the student counseling process, providing the necessary information and guidance to academic advisors.
Support for Accreditation and Quality Processes:
Preparing the necessary educational data, analyses, and reports in MÜDEK and similar quality assessment and accreditation studies.
Internationalization:
Supporting course matching processes for incoming/outgoing students within the scope of exchange programs (Erasmus, Mevlana, etc.) and contributing to the planning of courses offered in a foreign language.
Semesterly Activity Reports:
Preparing semester or annual reports on the activities carried out and presenting them to the department board.
