The Mevlana Exchange Program is an international program that supports student and faculty exchange between higher education institutions in Turkey and abroad. The department's Mevlana Coordinator is responsible for managing the exchange processes, ensuring academic compatibility, and providing academic advising to students.
Program Promotion and Information:
Organize informational meetings for students and faculty about the Mevlana program, its content, application requirements, and advantages.
Application Process Monitoring:
Collect applications from students and faculty, assess their eligibility, and ensure that the application files are completed properly.
Course Equivalency Planning:
Check the compatibility of courses that outgoing students will take at foreign universities with the department’s curriculum, and prepare and approve the Learning Protocol.
Academic Advising:
Provide academic advising to outgoing students, guide them on course selection, academic calendar alignment, and meeting program outcomes.
Welcoming Incoming Students:
Support incoming foreign students with course registration, advisor assignments, and academic adjustment processes; contribute to the orientation process.
Coordination with the International Relations Office:
Work in coordination with the university's Mevlana Institutional Coordinator, ensuring smooth communication and document flow.
Monitoring Protocols and Agreements:
Monitor the validity of inter-institutional agreements made under the Mevlana program, and propose new universities for agreements.
Annual Mobility Planning and Reporting:
Report information regarding the number of students and faculty participating, their countries, and universities to the Mevlana Institutional Coordinator regularly.
Equivalency and Grade Conversion Processes:
Ensure that the course equivalency and grade conversion processes for students returning from exchange programs are completed according to the academic calendar.
Archiving and Documentation:
Ensure that student learning protocols, course equivalency decisions, achievement certificates, and evaluation forms are archived regularly.
